What are External Numbers?
While AVOXI-Native numbers are added to your inventory automatically as part of our installation or porting process, you may have numbers in your telephony portfolio with other carriers which are also critical and need to be tested on a regular basis. Those External Numbers can be imported into your AVOXI inventory to test using the same interface as you use for AVOXI Number Testing.
Adding External Numbers
How to add individual External Numbers
- Log in as an Administrator
- Select the Numbers section in the Manage section of the navigation bar
- From the Add menu, choose Add External Number
- If you do not see the option to Add External Number, contact your account manager for access
- Enter your number and (optional) friendly name. If you need to add more than one number, select + Add to add up to 20 individual numbers at a time. Choose Continue to proceed

Need to import more than 20 numbers at once?
Check out Bulk Import External Numbers for more details.
- Review the details for your number to ensure the system detected the correct country and number type.

- Select Add Numbers to add your External Numbers to your inventory
- Now that the system has added your number, you can configure testing. We recommend both configuring a schedule to ensure your number is tested regularly and running an on demand test immediately to confirm the current status of your number.
Testing External Numbers
External Numbers can be tested like AVOXI-Native numbers can (see AVOXI Number Testing for details). Supported test types are our Agent Connectivity Test and Real-time Inbound Call Test
