Understanding Phone Number Registration & Requirements

To comply with international telecommunications regulations and ensure the security of your global voice services, certain phone numbers require documentation for registration. These requirements are set by in-country regulatory authorities and vary based on the country and number type (Local, Toll-Free, or Mobile).

đź“‹ Common Documentation Requirements

While requirements vary by region, you should be prepared to provide one or more of the following:

  • Proof of Identity: A high-quality color copy of a valid Passport or National ID. Note: Most regulators do not accept black-and-white or expired documents.

  • Business Registration: A copy of your official Company Registration or Articles of Incorporation. The company name on the document must match the name on your AVOXI account.

  • Proof of Address: A recent local utility invoice (Electricity, Water, or Internet) or bank statement showing the customer name and physical address. In many cases, this must be a local address within the country or city of the number being purchased.

  • Letter of Intent (LOI): A brief statement on company letterhead explaining the intended use of the phone number.

🔍 How to Check Requirements Before You Buy

We recommend reviewing restrictions before finalizing a purchase to ensure your business can meet the local criteria.

  1. Visit the AVOXI Online Shopping Cart.

  2. Select the country and number type you are interested in.

  3. Click the “IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THIS NUMBER” link located next to the number selection.

  4. A pop-up window will appear detailing specific coverage, accessibility (e.g., if it can receive calls from mobile phones), and any mandatory registration documents.

📤 How to Submit Your Documents

If your number requires registration, it will remain in a "Pending" or "Blocked" status until the documentation is approved by the local carrier.

  1. Log in to your AVOXI Platform.

  2. Navigate to the Numbers section and select the specific number.

  3. In the Number Profile, you will see a list of required documents.

  4. Upload your files directly to the portal.

  5. Review Timeline: Our compliance team typically reviews documents within 24 hours. You will receive an automated email notification once your status is updated.

💡 Pro-Tip: All documents uploaded to your AVOXI platform are saved in your secure Document Library. If you purchase additional numbers in the same region later, you can simply "link" the existing documents instead of re-uploading them.

âť“ Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my number blocked?

If a number has "Action Required," it is usually due to pending registration. Local laws require the provider to verify the end-user before the line can be activated for inbound or outbound traffic.

Can I use a PO Box for my address?

In most jurisdictions, a physical street address is required for regulatory compliance; PO Boxes are generally not accepted as a valid proof of address.
