Number Portability: How to Transfer Your Numbers to AVOXI

You don't have to change your business cards or update your website just because you're switching to AVOXI. Porting allows you to move your existing service provider to us.

The Porting Process at a Glance

Phase

Action Required

Submission

Submit a Letter of Authorization (LOA) and a recent Customer Service Record (CSR) or phone bill.

Verification

AVOXI submits the request to your current carrier. They verify that the account info matches exactly.

FOC Date

Once approved, we receive a Firm Order Commitment (FOC) date. This is the "moving day" for your number.

Completion

On the FOC date, the number transitions to the AVOXI network.

Essential Requirements

To ensure a smooth transfer and avoid "Rejections," keep these industry standards in mind:

  • Do Not Cancel: Your service must remain active with your current provider until the port is 100% complete.
  • Exact Matches: The name and address on your LOA must match the billing records of your current provider.
  • Unlock Your Numbers: Some carriers (especially mobile ones) require a "Porting PIN" or for you to "unlock" the number before it can be moved.

Note on Timelines: Simple ports (US/Canada) typically take 1–2 weeks, while international "Port-In" requests can take 4–8 weeks depending on local country regulations.
