Spam Calls on my AVOXI Number
Spam calls, also known as unwanted or unsolicited calls, can be a nuisance, potentially harmful and reduce productivity by redirecting agents effort and time to calls that do not serve the interest of the business. They involve telemarketing, robocalls, or even scams disguised as legitimate organizations. From an ITSP perspective, another way of receiving unsolicited or spam calls could stem from the re-use of numbers as some customers and organizations might still have the old contact in their books.
Although these reasons and different sources can be very well known to AVOXI, it is incumbent on the owner of the number (customer of AVOXI) to determine which call is spam or not, due to the fact that an unsolicited call to one person can be welcomed by another person.
Hence AVOXI’s flexible approach to this issue. AVOXI provides the tool to its customers to stop/block a specific source number or country from calling his or her number. The feature is available to all AVOXI account holders and does not require an Enterprise or Contact License. This gives the customer all the needed control once a call has been identified as “spam or unsolicited” to block the call and avoid wasting time or attention on subsequent calls. Any phone numbers added to the block list are immediately blocked.
How do you block a call on Genius?
NOTE: only admins users on Genius can perform this action. Speak to your Genius admin to help you block or unblock a number
Logon to Genius and go to your “company’s settings”
On the setting submenu appearing on the left side, navigate to the “Block list”
You can see countries or numbers previously blocked (or blocked by default) . Any entry can be updated or deleted from the list.
To add a new entry, click on the “ADD”:
Should the customer not be able to identify the sources or spamming numbers (in case of a coordinated TDOS or any malicious objective), he or she can opt for another number altogether.
